This Privacy Policy explains how Pixels Rising SRL ("we", "us") handles information in the BluScan Android app ("the app"). By using the app, you agree to this policy.

Summary

BluScan turns your phone into a wireless Bluetooth keyboard, barcode scanner, and NFC/RFID scanner for your own computer. The content you scan or type is sent directly to the computer you pair with — we do not collect, store, or transmit it to our servers (we don't operate any). The app shows ads via Google AdMob, which does collect some data, described below.

Information the app processes

• Scanned and typed content (barcodes, NFC/RFID tag data, text you enter): processed on your device and sent as keystrokes over Bluetooth to the computer you have paired with. It is not sent to us or stored by the app beyond what is needed to display the last scan on screen.
• Camera: used only to detect barcodes on-device (via Google ML Kit). Camera images are processed in memory and are not saved or transmitted.
• NFC: used only to read tags you hold to the device and send their data to your computer.
• Bluetooth device information: to connect, the app reads your list of paired Bluetooth devices (names and addresses) and stores your last connected device locally on the device to enable auto-reconnect. This stays on your device.
• Local settings/preferences: stored on your device only.

We do not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email, contacts, files, or precise location.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app displays banner ads using Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process data such as your advertising ID, IP address, device information, and ad-interaction data, and may use approximate (IP-based) location. This data is handled by Google under its own policies:

Consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland): where required, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for your consent before serving personalized ads. You can change your choices, and you can reset or opt out of ad personalization in your device's Settings → Google → Ads.

Permissions and why we use them

• Bluetooth (connect / scan / advertise): to pair with and send keystrokes to your computer.
• Location (older Android only, maxSdkVersion 30): required by older Android versions to scan for Bluetooth devices — not used to determine or track your geographic location.
• Camera: on-device barcode scanning.
• NFC: reading NFC/RFID tags.
• Internet / network state: to load ads.
• Advertising ID (AD_ID): used by AdMob for ad serving.
• Notifications + foreground service: to keep the Bluetooth keyboard connection active while the app is in the background.

Data sharing and retention

• We do not sell your data and do not share it with anyone except Google for the advertising described above.
• Data stored by the app (last device, preferences) stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.

Children

BluScan is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g., GDPR in the EEA/UK, CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, delete, or restrict processing of your data, and to opt out of personalized advertising. Security

The app processes data on-device and over your own Bluetooth connection. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Changes

We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date will change accordingly. Material changes will be reflected in the app or its store listing.
